Argus Farm Stop has a close relationship with the farmers we work with. We know our farmers, and we visit their farms.
Our goal is to provide a robust all-local shopping experience. We have an extensive team of local producers, as listed below under their catergories.
Argus Farm Stop sells produce for a wide variety of farms in our local area. We know our farmers, and visit their farms. They deliver in person to our store, so often customers can ask questions of them directly.
Growing practices are a constant topic of conversation here, as our customers want to learn more about what they are consuming.
We offer products from many farms using natural, organic or certified organic growing practices, because this is what our customers request. Our signage tells you the growing practices of each farm, and our staff can give you details on any of our local farms. Several of the farms that we sell for are using more conventional practices and this is always clearly specified on signage.
We are able to offer produce (and seeds and plant starts, in season) featuring Ark of Taste products, which focus on the taste qualities of the produce, not shipability or storage features. Ann Arbor is host to not one, but TWO seed companies growing Ark of Taste seeds and seedlings.

Eggs
Note: Argus works with the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) to offer eggs from very small farms in the store.
Argus has become a reliable, every day source for local eggs (chicken, duck and even quail and goose) from local farms. Even quail eggs.
Consumers are learning more about the wonderful flavor of eggs raised in a pastured environment. At Argus, you can ask about any of the growing practices of our farms!
Once you move from a factory-farmed egg to a small-farm egg, you’ll taste the difference, too!
We focus on improving the economic sustainability of farming, where farmers cannot both farm and be absent from the farm to sell their products.
